Derek Dolan, Born in Dublin, Ireland is a graduate of Screen Training Ireland and UCLA Extension film scoring programs in which he studied Orchestration, The Mechanics of Film Scoring and 20th Century Harmony under the tutelage of industry professionals Don Brandon Ray (UCLA Film Scoring Program)   
Derek Gleeson (Director, Conductor Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra) and Bob Drasnin (UCLA Film Scoring Program)   

Derek recently completed an orchestration workshop with Hollywood maestro Conrad Pope.
Derek studied classical guitar at the Dublin School of Guitar under tutor Alan Grundy M.A. (Mus).   
Derek has been writing and performing original material since age 12.   
Currently Derek is involved in providing music for several projects and recently completed the score for the Irish feature film The Troubles: A Dublin Story. Derek recently won Best Original Score for God's Whisper from the ROHTAK International Film Festival. Derek had his concert music performed and recorded by The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra featuring some of Ireland's finest musicians as part of their inaugural tour of the United States in 2009.   
Derek is a member of Irish Music Rights Organisation.
